Building Your Preventive Law Program -- On a Budget

Date: Friday, October 08, 2010
Time: 8:30 a.m. - 9:30 a.m.
Speaker: R. Wayne Pierce

Class Description:

Everyone knows that an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure. This class will help you identify the successful components of a preventive law program to keep you out of trouble in the first place. We will cover: legal review of contracts, manuals, SOP's, and standard forms; quality-control audits for your most troublesome operating practices and procedures; limitations on liability; early alert warning systems to identify and monitor early trends; preventive counseling; pre-approval of manufacturers or vendors; record retention; enhanced executive oversight; benchmarking; litigation awareness programs; programs to maintain confidentiality; safety committee procedures; training; and coordinating multi-state efforts. We will then discuss strategies for implementing a preventive law program, whether you are working with or without in-house counsel.
